How is it? Is it buggy? The reason I haven''t reinstalled Dev-C++ since I installed XP is because I heard that the previous versions of the beta we very buggy.

It''s no more buggy for me than previous versions.
But it has a nicer layout IMHO.
The only annoying bug I''ve found, if you try and open a source file directly, it will often popup with a messagebox saying that the file can''t be found, but still open it ok. :\

the best way to make it better is to use it and to report the bugs to the author

I''ve had no troubles with it besides the occasional not-saving correctly bug and the rebuild-all bug.
I should probably tell them about those.

this place is lame

Version 4.9.8.0 is very stable and doesn''t have any probs on my computer system. Former versions were buggy, but I wouldn''t call this version buggy.

I got this strange problem with Dev-Cpp on my Win95 computer. When i build a project with more than, say, 8 files, the console gives me "bad command or filename". Seems to be some limitation of the number of characters in the call to g++...
Anyone else experienced this?

Maybe Win95 doesn't recognise the g++.exe command because a '+' isn't a valid character in a program name (in DOS)?
If so, you should try to rename g++.exe to g.exe and edit your Dev-C++ compiler options for this new file.
It's just a guess!

It could also be a long filename format problem.
