I just saw the premiere of the matrix and it was so cool! The special effects were frickin crazy! It starts off with neo flying through the sky. (Right where the last movie left off) Then he encounters an agent and they chase him down. It''s so cool. Agent Smith smashes this car because he''s doing all these crazy jumps and everything just slows down as he smashes the car, then it goes back into normal speed. I was like OMG NO WAY. It was amazing, except... They killed Trinity! I was so pissed! Neo was supposed to save her, but the agents caught him and infected him with a virus. Morpheus was too busy with agents and was too late to save trinity by the time he killed the agents off. It really sucked. Anyway, aside from not seeing her in the next movie, I think reloaded was OMG. I''m going to see it again when it comes out! ^_^

2. If you really spoiled the movie like I think you are pretending, I''m afraid I''m going to have to kill you now.
3. How did you see it? Can you take me with you next time??
4. If this is a joke I''m afraid I''m going to have to kill you now.

Sorry, but I'm just not that interested. If you can't take the time to share with me your passions, then screw it.

Trinity from The Matrix
A Character Analysis by Tom Antonacci and Lindsey Cohen
2000-11-27
Lindsey Cohen Tom Antonacci November 26, 2000

Trinity

Trinity is a major Science Fiction character in the movie, “The Matrix.” She plays a strong woman role and Trinity shows the contradictions imposed by Hollywood on women. On one hand, Trinity undermines American cultural stereotypes about women and femininity: she is tough, active, fit, aggressive, and commanding. These characteristics are all traditionally associated with masculinity. However, in spite of all of these characteristics, Trinity’s narrative role-her function in moving the plot forward-seems to contradict these other signals. Although she starts out independent, Trinity ends up a little more than a traditional enabling love interest by the end of the film. She brings Neo back to life with her love and “inspires” the hero to conquer. Trinity is portrayed masculine and feminine at the same time, which makes her a strong role model and an admirable character.

Trinity possesses many typical male characteristics that are positive and negative. For example, when Trinity first meets Neo, they have a conversation that sets the scene for Trinity: “My name is Trinity.” “Trinity? The Trinity that cracked the IRS database? Jesus. I just thought um…you were a guy.” “Most guys do.” This scene shows that stereotypically men are the people assumed to be doing the intelligent work, and that a woman could not be capable of breaking an IRS database. Trinity breaks these boundaries with her male characteristics. Her physical appearance also portrays male characteristics. Her all tight black leather outfit, her dark glasses, muscular body, her physical ability to run and fight and jump, are all a plus because it helps her with her job to save the Matrix. Although the outfit makes her less feminine, it gives her the appearance of a strong independent woman, the look fits her attitude. Another example of masculinity is that Trinity is very hard on herself. Most women are sensitive but she is emotionally tough on herself. When Trinity is being chased by the “Agents,” she falls, and says to herself in a hardened voice, “Get up Trinity, get up!” This quote shows that she is not going to cry and give up, but be strong and fight until her death. Her masculine features hold both positive and negative affects on other characters and on the audience.

Under all of her black leather, Trinity also possesses female characteristics of the “typical woman” in a science fiction piece of work. She is nurturing and caring towards Neo throughout the movie. She plays the “mother,” by bringing Neo food when he is recovering. Cypher makes the comment, “I don’t remember you ever bringing me dinner,” and she responds by rolling her eyes. This mothering nature is a woman’s human nature, and Trinity still holds this quality. This is also a downfall in her character, because of her affection towards Neo; the jealousy of Cypher puts him over the edge to destroy what Neo and everyone else. Trinity also shows little hints of affection for Neo throughout the movie. When they have to answer the phone to go back to reality, Trinity insists that Neo go first. She cares about him and his well being which is a strong feminine character. This is a good characteristic that she possesses because Trinity would do anything for Neo, even if it would cost her, her life. Lastly, Trinity’s strong feminine side comes out in the movie at the end when she saves Neo’s life by telling Neo that she loved him. By doing this she somewhat destroys her hard body image and proves to be the desperate girl in one last attempt to save his life. She plays the prince in sleeping beauty by bringing him back to life. By playing a true woman she saves the hero, and her femininity glows through her body as she gives Neo a tender kiss. Her feminine side provides the movie and her character, with positive and strong qualities.

Trinity’s masculine and feminine qualities show her true abilities as a character. She is likable, young, and strong. She is a role model for women because she provides a basis of an emotionally strong and physically strong personality. Although she held woman characteristics she was able to carry herself as an independent, which is a good quality in anyone. If everyone were like her the world would be a little more unemotional and unopened. She bottles up feelings and lets them out when necessary. An example of this is that she had the chance to tell Neo that she loved him, but she waited until the moment was right, when he discovered he was “the one” for himself. She was created for the purpose of a strong character for women. Trinity provides the movie with a balance between the men and women roles. Some look at her as an attractive, independent women who actually “saves the day”, with love. In a movie with many special affects, fighting, confusion, and darkness, Trinity provides the light in the story with her motherly qualities. She furnishes the movie with “love” and the sensitive relief. “The Matrix,” is not womanly enough to be a “Chick-Flick,” but just enough so that women can relate to the movie through Trinity’s character. The unique idea is that men look up to her also because of her male qualities, abilities, and strength.

Yeah Nes is joking, they didn''t actually kill Trinity, they just realized that she is the secret love child of Agent Smith and Morpheus.

Just wanted to clear that up... ^__^

There''s no way this movie is going to flop. Even if it gets horrible reviews, it''s still going to make several hundred million dollars.

Wait till it dawns on people the thing that hooked them so badly last time was just a simple narrative technique...

Then it will be, "trinity, can you spare a dime?" days

Reminds me of when I found the "Official Script" to Star Trek: Nemesis over a year before the movie was released. Naturally, I thought it was just some clever fan-fiction, and I was bored, so I read it, thinking that the movie will never be like it.

*ugh*

Turns out it WAS the real script. I knew the entire fucking movie before I saw it. How lame.
