Well, I''ve been trying to play PlanetSide for two days now. First, it''s a 1.4GB (yes GB) download, and a bunch of registration crap, then megs & megs of updates... So far the game is about as fun as performing server maintenance, except I had to explain why I was worthy to perform said maintenance (it’s a beta).
The trade-off between price and quality does not exist in Japan. Rather, the idea that high quality brings on cost reduction is widely accepted.-- Tajima & Matsubara

Have you actually got it to update? I''ve tried several times and each time it hangs or crashes at around the 97% complete mark. IMO they should have just sent a floppy with pouya''s game on it, its a lot smaller and it crashes just as well (but it doesn''t have that huge download before the crash).

Ouch, that sucks ... I got the email at like 2 AM, but was too sleepy to install, so I went to bed. The next day I woke up at 6 AM, downloaded & installed the program, started the patcher, then went back to sleep. By 8 it was finished, and I was able to play like 5 minutes after that.

Thank-god for file-planet''s resumable downloads. The game looks very promising, it''s just frustration to get working (but it''s beta, and the game oughta come on a DVD for the final).

I finally got it to start-up, and I keep tabbing out to report bugs (haven''t even started playing yet), and it keeps disconnecting me due to inactivity... ah betas.

Hey, at least it seems to work, which is more than I can say for some of my betas...
