Downloading FreeBSD iso since I can''t get the boot disks to recognize my ethernet card. OpenBSD recognized it fine (well, the one of two ain''t bad), but I want the Nvidia drivers for FreeBSD as I want to start migrating desktop duties to BSD.
What are your experiences with BSD? I like OpenBSD. I use it for a server (hardly) and a firewall (extensively); but could never get into using it regularly on the desktop. I think I need a desktop with a pretty interface; I don''t mind a console in a server environment, but a desktop environment should be more interactive.
Any must have desktop apps anyone suggests?
Anyone in any BSD user groups? I was thinking of joining one of the OpenBSD user groups in the area, either in San Francisco or San Jose. Any good/bad experiences? How about user groups in general? I think it may be good, merging interest with netwroking, as I graduated but can''t land a job.
88%...ahh the joys of a fast ftp site.
