WinXP Question

I''m sure this question has been asked a million times, so feel free to complain about how google would have been easier and better. If I have two computers, do I need to buy a separate copy of windows XP for them both if I don''t already have an operating system installed on either of them? Or can I just buy one copy and use it for both. It seems kind of weird to have to buy two copies for two computers. What would happen if you had 8 computers? That would be like 1200 (CAN) on Windows XP alone

Actually, you are allowed to just use the disk for both PC''s, as long as you buy a second license. Not sure if XP comes with multiple licenses, but I doubt it. So you will have to PAY!!! :D

EDIT: Point being, if you have two computer and one copy of Windows, it's a perfect oportunity to run *nix on one and Windows on the other, and experience the best of both worlds.

Heh.. yes.. well.. I''m one of those few people on this forum who actually likes Windows XP a normal amount. Anyway.. I wonder where they sell licenses.. probably at microsoft.. I should check their website. Thanks everyone!

Hum. I looked it up but it seems rather extravagant for me. The smallest lisence supports up to five computers, and all of them seem to be aimed at companies. I still havn't been able to find prices though.

Edit: Alright I found out that it costs $85 USD for a license from Microsoft, which is about $120.70 CAD. Considering that I can get the full version for $150, this isn't much of an improvement

Just go with some flavor unix... I really, really, really liked Windows, but I got another computer and I put RH on it.

It''s teh w00t, you can say you''re a 1337 L1nUx h4x0r, and if you get a virus on the windows machine, it won''t nuke yu0r L1nUx machine.

I second (again) that installing *nix flavor on one of the computers would be A Good Thing(tm). Currently I have only one computer at home, and so is "forced" to run Windows.

Well.. this would be for my Dad''s comp and I don''t think he would like linux, and I know I don''t want it.
