None I can tell on these forums. Well, one. I didn''t actually go to the prom, I was in the band they hired to play, but since we only played for half the prom, I pretty much got payed to go tp prom.

I never went to the prom.

Nope, spent the money on a week-long cottage trip with friends instead. Besides, Boy C came up and spent the day with me and I think I had more fun than anyone else. We just cuddled up, went for rides in his doorless/roofless jeep, I shaved his head (did you know that shaving a guy''s head is NOTHING like shaving a woman''s legs?! No long slow strokes, imagine that!). Rumour has it my school''s Formal was horrible and it wasn''t worth the money.

When I was a kid, I really looked forward to things like the prom and graduation and such. Then in Jr. High, on the week of the highly anticipated, much awaited graduation/Jr. High formal, I had acute appendicitis and peritonitis. The other kid who started the same symptoms as me and went through the same things I did didn''t make it, he passed away. And I had partial amnesia (had difficulty recognizing my father, couldn''t spell my own name, needed to relearn how to walk).

So for some odd reason, after that, I just don''t care much about proms and formals and graduations. They seem trivial, so for my highschool formal/prom, spending the money on a cottage trip with friends seemed to be a much wiser choice.

You must all think me weird. LOL Does anyone else understand what I mean?

YES! My parents live there. Where exactly in TO? My parents live in the Beaches and my brother lives downtown near Engineering faculty in UofT. I live in Peterborough though.

I made prom king for a good reason too

My friend and I went as Dumb and Dumber, I was Jim Carrey with the Orange Tuxedo and orange cane. We ended up getting there an hour late while everyone was sitting down eating dinner. So my friend and I ran out on to the dance floor and started sword fighting with our cane. After we were finished everyone clapped and I swung as hard as I could at the back of his knee caps...Good times.

What a coincidence, my Prom is tonight too. I have the hottest date in the area, but I''m not sure how much fun the whole thing is going to be, as my friends haven''t exactly been all that great lately. So, I''ll post here after the night is done with.

My prom (we called it "Grad") sucked but I remember having fun anyway. It was a few years ago, but I remember it pretty well.

What the graduating class in my school did every year was
- Cocktail parties before hand
- Go to grad dinner (usually at a Banquet hall in town)
- Go to grad pub (usually in Quebec so everyone could drink and not have to worry about fake IDs)
- Have hotel party

Not such a bad tradition.

My best friend and I decided to rent a Hummer instead of the typical limo to show up to grad in. This was a few years ago when they were still pretty rare. It would cost $200, but between me, him, and our dates, it would cost us each $50.

About three days before grad, I had a big fight with my date. I thought things were ok afterward, but she wouldn''t talk to me. One of my friends was able to get her to talk to me so we could plan how Grad would go, and we agreed to not know each other after it was all said and done. The night before, she calls me and says she will just meet me at the dinner. My best friend was understandably pissed with her changing plans at the last minute, but I didn''t really care.

At the cocktail party, we get a call that the Hummer we rented, based on a military vehicle designed to last 10 years with combat conditions, broke down outside the Beer store. My best friend was understandably pissed considering the planning we went through, but I didn''t care so much because another girl went to more trouble to rent a super stretch limo, and it had a broken axle. So instead of a Hummer, we showed up in Geo Metro.

My date showed up late to the dinner. We acted cordial and got through the dinner. The chicken was a little cold, and the salad dressing was bad. As soon as the dinner and Grad video was finished, my date split, making for one of the last times I''ve seen her (not a bad thing).

During the Grad video, most people left for the Grad pub, put on by some of the members of the junior mafia. They didn''t like Quebec so much, so they held it on this side of the River. Since neither I nor my best friend were the legal drinking age in this province and we know nobody who looks like us, we decided not to tempt fate and went drinking at the Casino d''Hull with some of our friends. Good thing we did because nobody from our graduating class actually got into the Grad pub. Everyone from the previous and next years showed up ahead of time and the place was at capacity before the video finished. Those that did get in didn''t enjoy it much.

After the Casino, my friends and I went back to the hotel and got royally smashed with most of the rest of my class. That was the fun bit. I wasn''t supposed to get a bed to sleep in since I wasn''t paying for my room, but my friend who had a bed passed out on his way to the bathroom, so I took his.

The fallout from all of this was:
- I realized what a bitch my date was
- My friend tried to hook me up with his date since she liked how I looked in a tux, and they were only friends (it didn''t go anywhere)
- The guys who put on the pub had to put on a boat cruise because so many people wanted a refund.
- My friends and I were treated to a ride home in the Hummer on the second last day of high school. A massive crowd was surrounding it in the parking lot and everyone was talking about it the next day. I didn''t tell my date.

Yep, just got back. I had a blast at Prom, but under completely different circumstances than I thought. My friends were complete assholes, but I had a great time with my friend''s girlfriend (who I talked on the phone with from 2am-4am after I got back), and my date was a lot of fun too. Life is now good.

From what I understand, most girls that get smashed during prom want to lose their virginity. It''s pretty stupid, but the chances of you getting laid are MUCH higher during prom because of the old idea of "OH IT''S PROM AND I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING STUPID." By the same token, the chances of you getting killed in a drunken accident are also just as high.

Stuff I wish I knew before I went to my prom.
