map compiler

I''m using a recursive algorithm to sub-divide my map data. The compiler quits on me for no reason (there are no errors thrown and it doesn''t post a "completed" message). Is it possible that I''m causing some sort of stack overflow due to the constant recursive calls? I am compiling my tree all the way down to single polygons.
That's just my understanding; I could be wrong.

Yeah that sounds possible, depends on how large your map is. Did you write this compiler? If you did, try using a log system to narrow the problem down to a specific point.

Ya I wrote it (or in the process of debuggin it). I think I''m going to have to do some log work here soon.

What was confusing me is that my 3ds map isn''t terribly big. Much smaller that most fps maps I''ve seen. If the commercial map compiler don''t get overflow errors, then I don''t see why I should be.
