I''ve got this stupid bastard at school who keeps coming to me with these elite questions on using RPG Maker. He wants to take programming next year, and he seems to think that said program will help. I told him that you don''t have to know anything about anything to learn programming, but he wants to do game programming, and he insists RPG Maker is better because code isn''t involved.

hehe your buddy is a dork. It''s not better than C++ but it''s easier for doing the game I want to do right now. I am just an idea man, I can write stories and come up with cool ideas but making them a reality is difficult... on my own. Oh, and I make my own music my "band''s" name is Trial by Numbers.

That''s what I tried to explain. It''s good for starting with if you want to prototype something, but he seems to think he''s going to learn something from it. Sigh, at least he''s not like the guy who kept saying that COUT worked using "DOS print sheets"

Well... you can learn how to make sprites from it... But that''s it.

Not all of it obviously. I said I can make music. My ''band'' (I use the term lightly because the only thing I use is myself, my talent, a MIDI keyboard, electric drums, and one of those DMX turn tables) is called Trial by Numbers. I am trying to get my CD (Binary) published.

IMO that''s doing something... and if you think he should do it "properly" by coding, you need to realize that just because he is doing it an easier way, it can produce faster results, and if it''s all he needs, then why not?
