I'm making a graphical game for a school project. The language of my choice is Java because it's free, I know the language well and it's fit for the purpose, because the game should be able to run on a webserver (applet), and because the development contains "real" programming (the construction of a scripting language compiler/ virtual machine). I don't know much about Flash, but I do know you can also program games in that language, and that it's not free for developers. Could anyone help me list some pros and cons of Flash compared to Java, and if you can include some references I will be thankful. Thanks in advance, Jesper Edit: Same with Shockwave, if anyone can compare that to Java and Flash I would be happy. *** For Java games and Java related resources, go to http://www.javaengines.dk *** [edited by - blackone on May 18, 2003 6:46:02 PM]

If you know Java and Java can do what you want, then use it.
