Error code: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION Description: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. Access address:FFFFFFFF was read from. Access address:FFFFFFFF This is what I get in the exception log for for RA2 when it crashes (generally once every 10mins). Correct me if I''m wrong, but doesn''t FFFFFFFF mean NULL? I get these errors ALL THE TIME in all of my games on all of my OS''s (Win98se & Win2k). Could this mean I have defective memory? My chip (Athlon TBird 1.2ghz) is running constantly at around 40 - 45 celsius. I have a VIA GA-7ZX mobo with 256mb SDRAM (had it for about 2-3 yrs now), GF4MX, and onboard sound. Any ideas?

Anyone know of a good memory diagnostic app?

Turn on the full post test in your BIOS, that''s a start.

I don''t think I have one.

Most computers I''ve seen have an option for quickboot or fastboot in the bios, you need to turn that off.

As for memory diagnostics, I''ve heard of DocMemory being decent, no personal experience though.

-1 if you use unsigned memory addresses/address offsets

A friend of mine had this problem with RA2.

Norton Utitlies was to blame.
