Recently, I have created a screensaver with four texture-mapped, alpha-blended cubes. I got the code from another demo I had created and put it into a screensaver framework. When I ran tested the screensaver, everything was fine except the textures wouldn''t show up -- they were just white. I included the bitmaps in the same directory as the screensaver, c:/windows/system, and I don''t know what''s wrong. What can I do to remedy this situation? Do I have to put the bitmaps in a specific file? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

In your code, where are you trying to load the textures from? In other words, what''s the pathname?

I just load the textures with the code

texture= LoadBitmapFile("texture.bmp", &bitmapInfoHeader);

It should just load them from the same directory as the executable.

Why not try using the textures as resources? That way you shouldn''t have path problems and the screen saver is a convenient single file
ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI

Thanks for the idea Yohumbus!

It works great now!

One more little question:
Does windows call the screensaver each frame to update?
I was just wondering because the screensaver version is slower than the original executable version.

Thanks for the help!
