When you use explorer to make a new folder, it already creates a folder named "new folder" before you give the name, and then renames the folder to the name you chose. This has the following disadvantages: 1) if the folder name already exists, it gives an error window "folder already exists", but you still have a new ugly folder named "new folder" 2) in netwerk places where you can add stuff, but not change stuff, it's impossible to give the folder it's final name after it was named "new folder" 3) any normal person would first ask the name and then create the folder directly with the correct name. 4) it's useless work I guess this is made by the same microsoft worker who got the idea to let MSN messenger open when you open Outlook express, and then say "this program is being used by another program" when you try to close messenger. EDIT: while Outlook express can work perfectly, if not BETTER, without msn messenger. (just delete the exe of messenger) [edited by - Boops on May 23, 2003 5:42:40 PM]

Well then... why isn''t there a good software company that sells a GOOD os? I mean an OS made to be good for the user, not designed to give most cash to the developers.

You could use Linux or BSD ... but the fact is, whether you like it or not, Windows is here to stay. Too much current software is built on top of it for hardware/software developers to move to anything else. At least, large commercial developers. If you don't release something for Windows, you are seriously hurting your profits.

Do you think, in 10 years, there might be a good OS out there that has a very large user/software/game base?

Community projects like BSD and Linux are better in that regard because if there's something that a lot of people don't like, it will be fixed. As for ones with a large user base... you're going to have to deal with some annoyances. It's not that bad.
