explosions stuff

i want something to make 2d explosions (bitmaps). i searched trough google and others and i only found mkexpl, and explosion generator. but i want something better. any idea? may be i have to make an explosion generator by myself (a free one), if so, any hint? i don''t know where to start. if you are looking for a sprite, just draw one! sheesh. some programmers need to do their own work around here.

i''m not looking for a sprite, there are lots on internet. i''m lookin for a program: an explosion maker.

what you need to do is write (or find code for) a particle engine... it isn''t very hard to work with them, they basically just spawn a bunch of tiny sprites and control how they move (and change color maybe).
