Hello everybody, I am looking for a great modeling format with lots of already created models in that format for use with my new game. I have tried many formats already, here are the faults I found with each one: 1) MD2 - too simplistic, it didn''t give real enough looking results. 2) MD3 - too model specific, I ran into so many problems with different models that I didn''t have with other ones. Overall I just dislike the format (mainly those freakin tags) 3) OBJ - NO ANIMATION!! 4) 3D Studio Max - seems like there is too much to the format for my basic use. So I am left thinking, what on earth can I use for my game? Then the answer came to me: HALF-LIFE MODELS! I''ve heard they were purely bone animation which is something I''ve totally been wanting to look into, they look really nice, and they''re tons of already made ones. Has anybody else tried this? Where is a really good specification of the format? Would they work well in my Quake 3 BSP maps? Thanks for your opinions, I anxiously await your response.

Milkshape, .ms3d. Bone animation as well. Why do you say md2 isn''t realistic enough, it looks fine to me. It''s interpolation of the vertecies not bone but it trys.

Ah I dunno, MD2 is just kindof, ugh. For example the md2 uses one set of frames instead of 3, so you are extremely limited.
