im not trying to be an ass, but:

interpretation:

"we are people who want to make a game, but we want someone else to do the work for us and not get paid"

why dont you try learning to program! its FUN and rewarding.

just started a team and i dont have any members :-/ so i need some members for no payment jobs. I am creating a 1st person shooter. I can create some of the maps, music, 3d art, skins.
I need these members:

Webmaster: Someone that knows html.
Engine Programmers: To make the game engine, Must know C/C++
Sound creator/programmer: Must know how to create sounds.
Lead Designer: To lead design team. Must know how to manage people and script.
Mappers: To help me creating maps, i use GTK radiant to do that.
Modelers: needs to know how to make Gun,Character, plant and more models.
Texture artists: To create and apply textures. Know some texture program.
Animator: To animate models. Know how to do your job.
Testing and QA will be handled later.

E-mail me at Dannicool12@hotmail.com if u are interested.

Went from an FPS to a "Boxing game" in a matter of days. This is a project that has been well thought out for sure!

Any programmer with enough skills and self-respect to be able to create a "good game" like you are hoping to make will look at this post and laugh. Why would anyone like myself with these kinds of skills take on such a project when they could very well get hired by some large company that will pay between 50-60K dollars per year with tons of benefits?

Like posted earlier,
1) A person who believes they have a good idea for a game should not be considered a professional designer. It is a safe wager that a majority of people that visit these forums have ideas that are ten times more marketable.
2) A person is not a texture artist because they play around with a pirated copy of Photoshop a lot.

I can tell that this is just an idea thought up by two persons (probably still in their teenage years) after staying up and talking one night. There are no qualifications or curriculum vitae listed for any of you "founders/owners" which leads me to believe that this is a project that was brought into fruition prematurely and is doomed to have 100% chance of failure.

Everybody knows that the best designers and head of development studios are programmers themselves.

I gotta agree with sonic mage. As a programmer (and im sure most of you all are too), I find is almost too easy to find help. I show my friends demos of personal projects I work on, and within a few days they have shown everyone else, and I''m getting bombarded with mails from people wanting to help.

I love to work for free for nobodies who will likely steal any code I actually do put out for them thinking its the key to their success, even though all it actually was.. was a few header files without implementations. Yah, but they won''t know that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Does that mean that all that stuff you posted for me was all just a hole lot of crap that isn''t surposed to work?

Hey guys. This is the "texture artist" that is supposedly part of your team. I never gave you permission to put my name up on your web site and deem me part of your team. I only expressed that I was interested in learning more. When the subject of contracts came up outling royalties, I never got a response. So I kind of figured that was it. Please remove my name from your site as I am not part of your team and am currently committed to other projects.

And, by the way, Sonicmage, just so you know, I do more than just "play around" with my pirated version of photoshop. I know I am one of the better artists that post to these forums.

Here Try the pathway to game development article.

Forget about people joining your team. A group of talented people aren''t going to do all the work for you for free. Especially if you don''t provide any real info on it.

And so, the evil religion thread stole the wonderful "What the Heck?" thread's throne. Truly a sad day for gamedev.
