I been working on creating an engine for about 4 months. I read a lot of tutorials on OpenGL and DirectX. But I''m still not getting anywhere. Therefore, is there a site or tutorial that can guide me through the steps of creating a game engine. I would also appreciate some help. Thanks, Vishyvish

Whee! Thanks AP :D

"3D Game Engine," in itself, is a pretty nebulous term. What exactly do you want? Ask yourself these questions:

  • What sorts of environments do I want? (closed indoor spaces, rolling landscapes, etc)
  • How much graphical detail do I want to go into? (low-poly modelling, organic patches, subdivision surfaces)
  • What''s my target system spec?

Always remember - a general purpose game engine is what you make when you''ve run out of ideas for games.
