Ambient-trance-jazz-d''n''b-classical-club-upbeat-pop-techno-marygoddamnpoppins - this thread has been started over and over and over and over and over again... there''s a search feature, FYI.

First of all ... didn''t want to ask (What kinda music you like) it''s very clear what I asked ... is music good to be listened while coding?
Second ... Try flaming posts without looking at the date the member joined

Sorry about that, but this topic has really been so over played that it''s kinda unnatural to see another one (alas I think I myself started something similar a long time back). To ansewer your question politely, though - it''s 100% up to you if you can listen to music and think at the same time. I can. Maybe you can''t - no one can tell you that. If it doesn''t affect your work then it''s okay (unless you disturb others with it).

PS - I usually don''t go snooping around the numbers at the header of a post. Generally, I don''t even pay too much attention to who posted a particular post - it''s the contents that I look at first. In this case it was the title and not even the contents.

If you''re new and serious about what you do then the Lounge really is not a place for you, though. Responses like this are common here (everyone here is a terrorist and/or a sibling of hitler/apemen). Cheers.

Classic Rock.
Cool movie themes.
Some Guns and Roses, and Offspring.

ACtually, this is the Henry Mancini version. It sounds a lot better.

Unless they did a remake that I''m not aware of.

I really don''t care. You see, almost all of them are misnamed somehow. I don''t care so much as I know which song is which.

I''m the same way. I almost have to have music while I code. Otherwise, I''m too easily distracted. It''s weird though, becuase music can either help or hinder me depending on the task. I find that if I''m reading, I usually can''t listen to music and fully comprehend the material. If I''m programming or working out logic problems, music works wonders for me.

Ummm... I'll make a list:

Done it :-P

With respect to the original question though, I often find it counter-productive to listen whilst coding, because I enjoy the music too much to bother to do any work. That's true of 'songs' anyway, lyricless music isn't too bad...

Those are the ones on your computer though. This is just my Programming Playlist. If I add my writing playlist, thinking playlist, and entry playslist, my collection is over 2 gigs.
