Hi, Is there any way I can convert a mdl model (in binary format) to readable ASCII format? Thanks

Read through the binary file and grab the vertices and stuff, and then write that data back out to the ascii format of your choice.

ok, but isn''t it possible to keep the same structure?

What do you mean by structure? the structure of the binary file is BINARY, an ascii file is ASCII. Binary files are not easily readable by humans. So inorder to read the data in say notepad, you take the binary data and convert it to something like.

vert count 3
vert 1 1.00000 1.00000 1.00000
vert 2 1.00000 -1.00000 -1.00000
vert 3 -1.00000 -1.00000 1.00000

tri count 1
tri 1 1 2 3

By strucutre I assume you mean how the data is stored... You want to convert from one to the other, how would you keep it the same and convert it? Maybe I'm just missunderstanding the question, heh.

You kinda have me confused... First you want mdl -> ascii, now you want ascii -> mdl?

Cow explain how to convert mdl -> ascii, you can do the reverse simply by reversing the operations, ie load/parse ascii file info on verts, then use that data to write mdl binary file.
