Hey, I wanted to build an engine that creates a game for you(sort of a point and click deal) But the problem is, I don''t know how to compile things with code(sad right?). So I was windering if there was just a single line of code you could use to compile the program, then 1 line of code to build it. I sthis possible? If not, does anyone know how to do those things? Could you tell me? Or shwo me a place that tells? Thanks, demonrelams

Writing a compiler is insanely hard... and then you still have to assemble and link and stuff...

Darn, I was hoping it wouldn''t require too much effort. How do you create a DirectX or Game engine then? Don''t you have to know how to compile?

Er... no... I don''t quite understand that... unless you mean clicking the compile button.

No, I don''t want to creat a compiler. I was hoping that using Visual C++ code with a few lines I could do the trick. Or mabey there''s some other way.

I think you misunderstand the meaning of "engine." A game engine doesn''t make the whole game for you, it just handles graphics/sound/etc.

Suffice it to say that you sound very confused. I can see from your other post that you don't know what a pointer is. You're not quite ready for such a project. You need to get a more solid understanding of C++ first. Sorry, there's no Create Game command.

Reminds me of a program my dad tried to write.

10 Make a tank game

Run

Syntax Error on Line 10

One way it could be possible is to call gcc or another compiler from within the code. I know there''s a command to do that but I forget what it is. But that way would need you to either write the code in an editor in the app or genterate the code automaticly based on other commands you give. No easy task and given what Kraze said it doesn''t sound like something you''d be up to.
