Hello all! I''m an experienced Windows developer, however I am new to 3D graphics and OpenGL. I''ve worked my way through the first 5 lessons and cannot believe how helpful this site is!!! Yeah baby! I''ll no doubt be spreading the word.
I''m sure this is an easy question for all of you 3D masters, so here goes: using the basic shapes, mostly triangles, I created what looks like a 3D drill bit with the tip pointing down the z-axis (to the negative). I want to rotate the drill bit, but I want it to spin in place, just like you would expect a drill bit to do. The rotation I''m getting with glRotate is more like an orbiting movement. Maybe I just don''t know how to use glRotate yet, but how can I make my image spin in place...in other words turn clockwise or counterclockwise while staying exactly on the z-axis the entire time, not gravitating around it?
Thanks for your help!
