I got my copy of VC++.NET in the mail today, and tried to install it. It told me to install the prerequisite disk stuff first, so I tried to do that. Part way through the install, an error popped up, saying that the software hadn't undergone Windows-Logo testing to ensure compatability with XP. BS, this is a Microsoft product; lol. Any idea what I should do, or has anyone else had this problem? I haven't looked extensively, but I did take a quick look at the helpfile, and tried to install each component individually. No luck :/ If anyone thinks it's because I shopped at Kazaa, I will gladly photograph all the documentation and whatnot that came with it thanks Peon [edited by - Peon on July 22, 2003 7:48:06 PM]

I installed it under XP just fine.

I got the same thing. Just tell it "OK" and continue with the installation. I have it installed on my pc running XP professional.

EDIT: Okay, I managed to get around the prerequisites, after reading the readme a bit more. Thankfully, it worked, and I booted up the IDE. Very cool.

Then I went to install the MSDN. Disk 1 and 2 worked without a hitch, but disk 3 has been giving me a lot of trouble. It works well until about TEN files from the end, but it always messes up when installing a file called wmplay.hxs. I verified that it is there, like it suggested. Disk is in perfect condition; no smudges or anything. I tried to cancel at that point, but doing so cancels the ENTIRE installation of the MSDN. I've "retried" several times, and no luck.

I just have the worst luck :/ Anyone have some advice?
