Does anyone know about the restrictions that Visual C++ .NET 2003 Standard has. I know that it does not come with an optimising compiler. Also how much slower would a game run that was compiled using this version rather than a much more expensive alternative with an optimising compiler. That all depends - if you are using 3rd party libraries for your graphics, music, physics etc. then they would (hopefully) have been compiled optimally, so it shouldn''t make a difference.

I agree, it shouldn''t make too much of a difference, unless you are writing a software renderer or something.
