I hate finding myself learning all the low level stuffs of DirectX or/and OpenGL; i know it''s good for a better understanding of the API to make my own engine, but i would rather prefer using a free 3d engine and just focus on the game(or application), and while building a team, things might go faster! So do you 3D_Guys use to program ur own 3d engine or use free ones, in that case what do u prefer(why?)

I''m using OGRE. It''s been a pleasure to use so far.

Check out Dark Basic! It''s very good for small games that don''t require much out of the computer. Also, the games won''t look as good, but if you use good models, they will look okay.. and Dark Basic is extremly easy to use.

However, if you want to be serious, then google around for a while and you will find stuff to use!
