QBasic...

I believe what you need is some form of Quick Basic. QBasic is the one that comes free with DOS 6.2 and it''s just an interpreter. Quick Basic is the interpreter and compiler... at least I think that how it works

Correct, QBasic is the free version and QuickBasic is the one you have to buy(to compile) although I havn''t found anywhere in the world to buy it...search the net.

My screen goes to fast when compiling, so I can''t see the compiler messages or commands. Damned 1200MHz CPU

If you have QuickBasic (the full, official version) and you need to run the compiler manually, just do:

bc hello.bas hello.obj hello.lst
link hello.obj

I just tried it until I got it right

[edit] @ CtrlAltDel: I don't know where to buy it either. I got my version (official one with 5" disks) from an uncle who bought QB PDS or something, that was a newer version back in the good old days²)

[edit2] Keeping a QB compiler on a bootdisk can be very useful. Or even the QBasic version without compiler is a great help in some rare cases. My Windows XP still has its QB installation folder <3

I heard it came with Windows, but never found any qBASIC stuff. So I skipped it.

Versions 4.5 and earlier of MS QBasic don''t have compiling. You''ll need to grab version 7. something. Look around programming sites in their compilers section. It''s freely available, just might take some looking.

It came with Windows 95 but I believe that was the last OS QB came with.

Wrong. QB 4.5 has a compiler, and since I don''t think there''s any way to buy it, download it off the intarweb.

And, if you know, is there any translator to translate some text from croatian to english??

Use googles translator here.

EDIT: Dang. Doesn't support Croatian. Altavista Babelfish supports a few more languages, but not Croatian eighter.
