And the state sends that guy to prison, because he had (9 years ago) sex with an underage girl (which happens to be his GF, and who said it was consentual, and she doesn''t want him to go to prison). The reason those laws are in place is a matter of emotional maturity. A 15 year old is not expected to have the emotional maturity nessecary to make that sort of desicion, let alone raise a child. It is in fact something social services should have caught on to.

You mean, there is a MATURITY TRESHOLD?
It''s not like you can quantify that. maturity can greatly vary, according to many factors, and drawing a line at an arbitrary age (say, 18) is stupid.
Besides, this threshold varies from country to country (in Japain is 13, right?), and time to time.
If I am not mistake, Mary (mother of Jesus) was 15 when Jesus was born. So, basically, christianity is a religion that encourages pedophilia?

See, thsi is a blatant contradiction between letter and spirit of the law. The spirit of the law is not to damage people.
The letter of the law:
if(you are older than x and the girl you fuck is younger than y)
go_to(jail);

Obviously, the girl wasn''t damaged (mentally or physically). That''s what enrages me.
It is the very same thing with the: "the main combat phase is finished".

We are humans, not machines, and we should NOT blindly rely on laws. We should always take into consideration all the factors, the damage, etc.
No damage==no punishment;

You're not supposed to (according to society) 'fall in love' with someone below the age of 18. 14 year olds don't have half the mental maturity of 20 year olds, they may act it some times, but they quite honestly don't have it...plus life experience, they are, of course, lacking in that area.

Why? Who is to judge what is fucked up and what is not fucked up?

That whole 10m analogy makes no sense.

Having sex with 13 year olds in other countries may be legal, but it's fucked up, ok? You'll have kiddie porn lovers (they can be executives of a large company. or some regular guy) going to these countries having sex with underaged girls, but oh, it's not underaged in [insert name of whacked up country here]. Can you please refute ALL my arguments, in this thread, LOGICALLY, rather than telling me I am fucked up?
BTW, I never said it is OK to have sex with a 13 yo girl, waht I said is that it is not my place to judge this, ESPECIALLY since both persons agreed upon it at THAT time and at THIS time.
Why putting someone to jail if no harm was done?
