computer doing something odd

For some fucking strange reason, whenver I'm streaming audio from my server (running windows 2000) to my computer, it streams for about 15 minutes, then the stream connection drops (this happens when i stream with BOTH windows media encoder and shoutcast). shoutcast (or WMP) freezes. I do ctrl+alt+delete then try to 'end task' the program, but right when I hit the "END NOW" button, my computer hangs. I reboot, but then it doesn't see my NIC and i have to move the network card to a different PCI slot to get it to work.
