If you''ve got something you want to program I am willing to do the artwork (so long as it is not to teribly demanding). I''m just looking for something to do; be it program or draw a lot of little pictures.

can you draw character/enemy sprites like in Zelda, the old one for the NES, or character/enemy sprites like in Gauntlet for the old NES ?
Or can anyone else ?
If so leave a post here with info to get in touch with you or leave me an email at

You guys need a writer, then? I''m available. I write science fiction/fantasy rpg or adventure game plots. I have a couple nice ideas, let me know if you want to commit to this and what genre game you want to do.

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.

Yea....I would really like to get this rolling.......
I am thinking along the lines of the old Gauntlet for the NES.
Fight your way out of a maze type of thing.
If you can come up with some kind of story to go with this and Mike can let us know about the graphics part, I will do the coding.
If anyone else wants to get on board with this then leave a post here with contact info or email me

Gauntlet?! Does that _have_ a plot? I can do it though. How about: You''re a geek guy asking out a babe. Each maze screen is you inside your brain trying to figure out what to say so as not to scare her away. You have to shoot your insecurities and competitors and stuff. The story screen you get after each maze screen will show how you resolved the last problem and set up a new one for you to solve. You like? Or too cheesey?

The only kind of artwork I can do is hand drawn pictures that I then scan in and color on the computer. So I guess I can draw just about anything you want. Here is an example of my abilities. I drew this picture two years ago and I haven''t really done any artwork since then. For that reason I''m a bit out of practice, but I think I can still manage.

hehe, I used to have a t-shirt that looked exactly like that picture... did you use a t-shirt as a model for that picture?

Noone one here mentioned coding, I''ll help with the code if you want (MSVC++ 6 Enterprise). I know C/C++.

I will hapily accept the help but it may be about a week or so before I can get started.....I already had some of it done.........then I had a major problem....computer crashed.
My Windows 98 restore disk is at a friends house 180 miles away along with my MSVC 6.0 disk.
So it looks like my programming exploists are gonna be on hold for about a week. I use my dads computer to surf the net but he doesn''t have any compilers or anything on this thing, too bad.
Maybe this is a sign.......for me to get a new computer.

Gauntlet was one of my favorite games for quite a while, I used to dream that I was in a cramped maze looking for exits. Heh.

I''m a coder and am willing to help out if needed/wanted. I have a limited amount of free time on my hands which is why I am not working on my other projects, but I may be able to commit to writing utilities or something.

A Gauntlet game sounds very cool.. It''s the type of game I would love to work on.

What about the Gauntlet project here at GameDev.net? Ever since I found this web site it''s been pretty much dormant.

I am all set to write a game like that, except I don''t have the artwork to work with. I just picked up a copy of Poser 4 and I am working through the tutorials so that I can generate the raw images I need for a game like that.

Anyone have artwork for Gauntlet? I could generate a working demo in just a couple weeks.

Allright, my comp is back up and running again......sooner that i thought which is good.
Win32mfc we can work together on this if ya want, but like you art is a problem for me but boy can i code.
I do have gauntlet on a nes emulator which means i could rip the graphics as fill ins till we could get some good artwork.....actually i have already done this but the artwork is absolutely horrid....it wasnt too good at 320x240 res which the game ran in .....the sprites and tiles were 16x16.....so if we double the res to a respectable res of 640x480 then the sprites/tiles would need to be doubled. When I done this, it looker terrible. And there was only 2 frames of animation for each direction you moved. So I am thinking if we can get some art then we could get this joker rolling. What do you think ?
