It''s a subject that has fascinated me lately, especially after reading the Howstuffworks.com article: "How microcontrollers work". Anyway, that article goes over the BASIC Stamp and was wondering if there is a stamp that understands C? Where could I find it? Anyone else interested in programming microcontrollers?

I programmed the Motorolla HC12, and the only thing i could get to create the S-Records(binary image) for it was this damn program called Cosmic - C, we only had the demo version which you have to trick if you wanted a file over 4kb, it was horrid
I''m Human, yup Human, just look at my neck

A lot of the Motorola microcontrollers can be programmed in C. Heck, anything that actually compiles before downloading to the microcontroller can be "theoretically" programmed in C. Currently, I am using an OOPic microcontroller for the robot I am building. It can be programmed in Basic, C, or Java. Even though my C/C++ knowledge is greater, I am using Basic because all of the documentation/tutorials/examples for the OOpic use it.

And there is a brand new Basic Stamp called the Javelin, which is programmed using Java.

Or you could get yourself a Lego mindstorm kit.
