Does anyone play the original Command and Conquer on their Win2k machines? I can''t seem to get it working, even with win95 compatibility mode turned on. Does anyone have any hints to getting it working? It crashes immediately upon hitting the link.
Thanks!
Ah.. the best strategy game ever of it''s time
Have you tried running the MS-DOS version from the Command Prompt?

red alert 2 is a discrace to the westwood C&C series.
Dolphins? I mean wtf, how gay is that.
anyways, I run it all the time, with compat mode on of course, and have no problems.
95% of the C&C gaming crowd disagrees with you. Now eat shit and die.
EDIT: whats wrong with dolphins?? they cool

So you''re the guy who just came to my house and asked everyone inside if we were fans of C&C and how we stood on Red Alert. It all makes sense now.

I had the same problem and I never got it working
And, to whoever said RA2 was a disgrace to the CNC series: Peh, the game wasn''t THAT bad, I admit it wasn''t the best like RA1 and CNC95 were, but it was still pretty good. If you are looking for a disgrace, then play Tiberian Sun. That game made me want to blow up my computer (just kidding, maybe my friends computer though).
Actually Dolphins are rather realistic. Several militaries around the world use them for seamine detection and search and rescue.
If you want to play DOS games, then I would recommend building a cheap system with older hardware to play DOS games. Hardware drivers are still readily available online for old hardware.
I got a little 486 with a Sound Blaster Pro and Matrox Millenium videocard set aside for dos gaming.

It''s not a DOS game. It is Win ''95.

Well, then:

I know this probably doesn''t help you, but Win XP has a compatability mode, that is semi useful, I use it to play fallout 2 on the windows xp computer in my office, since i have nothing better to do, than to play games.
