Original Post
These message boards are not multithreaded, and therefore deviation is not even an option.
The search facility is made useless by thread topics deviating halfway through.
I have explained the logic now... are you a deviant?

I have no idea what you just said, but it''s quite possibly more logical than the gravity helix drive.
Why don''t you get a job and make some sense?

We like to call it "hijacking".
Multithreaded message boards... *shudder*

...and that is why i hate flipcode
I don''t think "multithreaded" is an applicable term to message boards, unless you are referring to their implementation.
I could be wrong though. It happened once back in 1983, I think.

They''re refering to messageboard that have message "trees" look at the flipcode to understand what I''m talking about. Basically it means that either 90% of the replies are hidden and have to be manually clicked to see them, or the page width is 10000 pixels because the inner most messages are indented so much, or it''s flat like these forums, but the threaded nature means you have no idea what anyone is refering to.
no deviants...?
multithreaded...
non-multithreaded...
... the original topic was forgotten after two messages, the original deviation only lasted two pitiful posts, and the entire discussion was 4 messages shorter.

Multi-threaded forums are a bitch to read... I prefer these type of boards any day. *huggles GD forums*
I agree. Besides, I''ve had too much of these
deviants.

So... how 'bout those yankees...
Oh right....
Seriously though, I prefer multithreaded because I can skip the crap. But in the end, moderation is the key. I love Standard Deviants! It's like Bill Nye for adults but appeals to kids (and dudes in between, like me).

So, haha, who here uses Advant as their browser?

I think multithereaded forums are nice when done right and used responsibly, which pretty much means they suck and definitely wouldn''t work here. It would be nice to have some sort of pseudothread ability where you could make a post, click a checkbox and it would both create a new toplevel thread (that contained a link to the original thread) and a post in the existing thread (with a link to the new thread). There have been times when I want to post something in a thread that would probably get a lot of discussion, but don''t want to hijack the thread with only semi-related stuff, but just posting a new thread about it wouldn''t make much sense either, and doing the psuedomultithreading would feel like cross/double posting
