Replacement for Paint?
Paint that comes with windows has some problems like incorrect co-ordinates when drawing rectangles, and color problems when using 256 bitmaps (painting purple will come out grey).
Its also very limited in some aspects.
Is there a replacement I can use that will do all the things paint can do + a bit more?
(I dont want to use PaintShop or Photoshop as they load too slow and have too many features)

I'm reminded of the day my daughter came in, looked over my shoulder at some Perl 4 code, and said, "What is that, swearing?" - Larry Wall
I''m assuming you want something free and simple to use. Go to download.com and search for ImageForge. It''s freeware, and it supports quite a loat of useful features. Plus it''s relatively easy to use.

Gimp for Linux is a small quick loading paint program that has loads of great features..I don''t know if there is a port to windows or not though.

Yep there is. Gimp for Win32 is pretty good, only a "little" bit more buggy than the Linux code.

Use Paintshop Pro. If you spend more time with it you will realise that most of the tools work in exactly the same way as the tools in paint do. If you want, just hide all the extra options and layers stuff and use basic tools. Paintshop Pro gives good coordinates and will store palette information perfectly!

i always found Gimp cool for logos and stuff, but not much for drawing game art. I don''t know how good it is for that kind of thing. i could be wrong, though. I guess i just haven''t used the program enough yet.
