Hey. I''m having trouble running a game I made on windows 2000. It ran perfectly on win 95/98, but when I run it on win2000, I run into problems. When the games starts up, the palette is lost, and the colors get distorted (obviously). The program automatically minimizes and when I open it back up, the blits detect the dxerr_surfacelost error and the program restores the surfaces and the palette. So, what I''m wondering is, what is the best method to detect the fact that the palette is lost? The surface doesn''t get lost when the palette goes bad, so how should I detect that? Anyway, thanks for any help in advance. -Derek

It''s more than likely the drivers for your graphics card are screwed up. don''t say: ''well I already have the drivers'' Windows 2000 is not made for gaming, as stable as it is. Therefore the drivers don''t run the same on it as they do on 95/98.

More info: If I restore the surfaces and the palette, everything works fine. Example: I placed a button in the game that would restore all the surfaces, so if the palette gets screwed, clicking the button makes everything normal. So what I need to know is if there is some way to detect the palette going bad.
