Hi there. I´m searching for a programmer to provide an engine, and all required importers/exporters to make a game. I don´t mind that you don´t code all of the game, you can reuse, moddify, or do what ever your pelased, as long as you give in an engine able to run the GFX and 3D i produce. The game is a 3D heavy armored vehicle combat game, with some ideas of my own, if you think you have what it takes, drop me an e-mail and i´ll fill in all the details. Be warned that i prefer a very small team, 2, maybe 3 persons, maximum! There is no funding whatsoever at this stage. With this project i want to broaden my experience, to see if the gaming industry is a place for me. Basic Features are as following: -Three-dimensional engine. (with an 1st person view and an orthographical Top-Down view). -16 bits color (32 would be nice). -Bump Mapping (highly desireable). -Multiplayer abled engine, capable of importing/exporting data to and from an external database. -Ability to render environments with 5 square KM´s at a time (being the "normal" player size 2m*3m*10 h*w*l). -Be able to render 20 models with 1500 triangles, and 15000 tris of environment at a time. -Able to play animations (no skeletal system is required) -Dynamic simulations (projectile collisions, explosions, wind, and gravity). -Sprite rendering (for smoke, dust and other stuff). -Be able to convert a grayscale image to a 3d environment. (Valleys, mountains, etc). -Be able to load 3D models (preferably in .obj format). -Vertex transformation (to achieve some GFX´s). -A.I. Very basic A.I. (to drive some vehicles from point A to point B, must be able to obey human given orders). -Have some kind of script engine (to determine wheter to change map, or to continue on the same mission, basic stuff like that). In order to provide some samples of my work, here are two links of what i have already produced to this project. Please note that those are UNOPTIMIZED and NOT final models, they are mere 3D sketches. http://members.netmadeira.com/analucia/wom_001.html http://members.netmadeira.com/analucia/wom/wom_002.html My skills are as following: 3D : Modelling, UV mapping, skinning, animating, rigging, all in Maya. 2D : Textures, in Photoshop. Video : A/B editing in Premiere, Some compositing in Shake. Web : HTML, &#106avascript, Flash (i must warn that i hate doing webdesign) EDIT:In case your too lazy to look for my e-mail on my profile, here it goes helderomar@hotmail.com) Thanks to the 2 persons who replyed so far! I am intersted in your project, send me more info to adil_bakkal@yahoo.com

i''m programming DirectX, using c++, i will be glad to help and be part of your group. i agree with you that a small team would be more organised thus efficient.
Send me more about the type of the game, is it strategy, adventure, action, or arcade ?
I have already written some code to support a good graphical user interface GUI, hopes that would help !

Personnaly, i don''t care wether this project is funded or not, what we aim for is to broaden our experience.

Hi there!
I''m a project leader (lead programmer) of a small game development team. We are in a great demand of such people like you. We are currently working on a small project, which will be done extremely fast if you''ll join us. Then we could start working on your project as I''m sure that I can write the engine with all features listed above. For more detailed information E-Mail me (dmswizard@hotmail.com).

Hey !

I would happen to have an engine ready, so whenever you want to start, get in touch with me !
It's a scriptable engine, so you might finish your game in a few hours or so! (maximum: days )
It can be used to power all sorths of game types, and it was originally designed for your type of game ! (only I didn't focus on game design)
You might take a look at some screenshots: Screen Shots of the Engine
My E-mail adress is: osvathrobi@hotmail.com

You might find more info about my engine if you look at some feedbacks people on gamedev.net supported me with:

Thanks to all the replies until now.

At this moment i am studying some possibilities.
Falkone i do know that there are quite a few engines around that can do what i want, the thing is that i have no time to learn how to program in a new language (currently i´m trying to learn MEL), thus the request for a programmer.
And again thanks to all those who replied!

Hi Protugal,

Actually I was in the same boat as you a year ago looking for engines. As the other poster said there are several engine out there (although be VERY careful which one you choose as they are not all created equally ) but further to that I wanted to aleiviate some of your fears to do with programming.

A lot of the free game engines out there now make it real easy to do level design work just like a Quake world builder. Don''t knock them untill you''ve tried them. If however someone has offered you their own engine that''s also jsut as good.

Best of luck.

PS: Just FYI check out the A6 engine by Conitec. It costs $50 to start with and has amazing features and is dead easy to use.

Actually, I would suggest NOT using the Gamestudio engine if you are planning on doing anything serious. It''s quite easy and quite powerful.. but limited in the way it''s organized..
