POST/GET through sockets

I understand the basics of sockets in creating a client application and connecting to a server. However now I need to be able to POST some data to a specific webpage on a server... eg: POST to http://www.myexsite.com/page1.asp What do I have to do to connect to this page to send? How do I post to this page? Cheers and thanks
