AAA Programmers!

Original Post
Hi
I am looking for people interested in doing a ''spare time'' project. I am fulltime employed, but am looking to do a project in spare time, with the intention of selling as a whole.
I will go into further details upon request.
No offence, but only experienced/talented programmers please, this will be a mass market AAA project.
Bit of background info on myself: I have over 14 years inhouse experience in the games industry, 10 of those in Lead/Art Dir roles with leading developers. I have worked on every platform since the late 80''s and have contributed to numerous AAA award winning titles.
Please contact me for more info, and include either resume or brief desc of experience/titles.
Genuine enquiries only please, I stress again that this will be a project in own time, so will involve eating into time usually reserved for boozing, but would be worth it!
Cheers
Email: visionfactory03@yahoo.co.uk
At which companies did you gained those experiences? And what games did you work on? We can''t just believe you on your word. If you claim to have over 14 year of experience in the industry, why wouldn''t you give out some referrals we can check?

TOOLMAKER:
Firstly, If you read my post you will notice I said I will give more info to people that are interested, by email.
Secondly, what do you mean CLAIM to have 14yrs exp? Lots of people have been working in this industry FAR longer than myself, I really dont see your point here, its not like im professing to be Batman or anything...
Thirdly, if I post here what titles and companies I have worked on & for, its not that difficult to find out who I am - and I dont want the whole world knowing what Im doing.
The fact is, I have seen this industry grow and grow over the years where now the publisher pretty much dictates what type of title they want for the market, obviousley with some exceptions.
This means you get handed a project to do, even with a great concept that you offer to your company its unlikely it will be picked up due to commitments to publishers. Creating the game you want to do in your spare time, aslong as it doesnt affect your 9-5 job stands much better opportunities for bieng published if it is presented in its entirety requiring no resources from the company.
I will tell you that one of my titles from a few years ago shipped 5+million units.
XANTHEM:
Yes I am still working in games, and as for ''direct competition'' - it obviously depends on what titles my company is/is going to be working on and also what title I am suggesting.
Bieng senior personnel, I know what titles are bieng planned for release in the next 2-3 years, which by the way would NOT be in competition with my own.
And another point - Approaching my own company to sell it to.

I like your style!

You still havent adressed his question. What games and what companys did you work for/make? and please do not avoid the question by saying it will be told to people who want to help.

Ideas are a dime a dozen man. It's funny to see just how many people come on here and act like they have a top secret million dollar making idea, and expect people to follow along on faith alone. Not gonna happen. Give some details, or have fun with your idea by yourself :-).

MAJIN:
Did you read my last post??????
I addressed the question by saying I said I would provide more info to people who reply BY EMAIL - THAT is quite clear.
LEEDGITAR:
I know ideas are dimes a dozen, I have been working for a long time, and I KNOW what makes a decent game.
And what do you mean expecting people to follow on faith alone???
Am I asking people to send me a cheque for $50000 or something?? No, I am asking for a reply BY EMAIL and I will explain more.
I find it quite funny people are so negative from the outset, what is so hard to believe I have the experience I have. Do you think the industry started with PS in 95??? Do you think all these AAA games are made by themselves???? No, people make them, and Im not saying Im a GOD, Im saying that over the years I have been fortunate enough to work on some, which by the way is only a FEW of the titles I have shipped over the years.
If this has not sunken in by now, I reiterate, I will address specific questions BY EMAIL - if its too hard for some people to comprehend, well that explains something!

Thank you NECTARINE!
At last someone sensible has posted!

No offence, but this is an hobbyist site and the average age is 21 (take a look here). It's a bit farfetched (if not rude) to demand AAA talent upfront for a 'spare time' project without a minimum of details, hence the responses you got so far. You should be looking at other posts and the forum's FAQ on tips on how to post a request for help; here's an example taken at random.
Hope this helps.

This place is full of dumbasses. If you''re not interested in other peoples projects don''t post!
If you need more details just send him an email!
This forum would be a better place without all this retarded people.
Amen

You see, the problem is there are 100 post like this everyday. If you want people to take the time to even email you, I''d advise putting something in your message that makes someone want to inquire besides just "I have a dream.". Nobody is impressed by someone saying they have a game idea that will take the world by storm, because anyone can come on here and say that. If there are no details or anything in your message. then the post will in most cases just be flamed, or ignored.
I dont think many people on here are intetionally trying to be negative, but after so many posts like this you would think people read the other posts on here before posting their own, and realize that they need to make it sound a little more realistic to get peoples interest.

I doubt you even have a week experience in the game development. Someone with 14 years of so called experience as you say would be more then willing to tell people what they worked with and as and for who. And you did not adress the question saying people who email me will get the information isnt telling anyone about your game background, since no one with the right mind would email someone w/o credentials or something to show about making a game. I could say anyone can say they have been making games so 10 20 100 years but if they dont have anything to show for it people arent just gonna take your word for it. And i bet your response to this reply is gonna be the same thing as all the other times u avoided these kind of questions.
