I''ve just finished watching the demos!
I have to say WOW! And to all that entered, Great work!

My personal favorites were Andreas Hammar and Paul Kitchin.

quote:

James Trotter
*less severe copyright infringement - music (author is credited but apparently no permission for use)*
Positives:
Edoras
Sky turning red
Negatives:
Far clipping plane in Edoras
Music pops and clicks
Challenge:
Smooth out end of camera moves, i.e. slow to stop instead of sudden stop
Score:
Artistically: Strong
Technically: Strong
P.S. Anonymous appreciates the credit

hmm... The popping and clicking with the music I haven''t experienced... I''ll try to fix that camera

Thanks for the feedback!
Just spent three hours downloading and watching demos. There were a lot of interesting entries. My favorites were ( in no particular order ): James Trotter, Michael Wallace and Paul Kitchin. Can''t wait to see the results

Hello i m Hermanns Christophe

I want to say to Enigma ther is no copyright on clasical music.

The source of My demo is available on http//www.ploksoftware.org

Other demo based on ExNihilo engine will be released in few day.

Due to the fps I have turned off volumetic fog and particle system for this contest (rain can be added with only one script).

In the next version of ExNihilo i will put again this demo with more textures, models, bugs correction and optimization.

Guys, you could at least respect peoples feelings a little...... what kind of jerk would write a post regarding the 3 WORST entries........................ if you have any opinion on the matter email me at: hic@bestweb.net
Honestly, in my opinion, there aren't any *really* great entries - good, but not superb. Too much of the demos lack more content.

My favourites:
1. Andreas Hammar
2. James Trotter
3. Michael Wallace

And I wish that Rishi Ramraj would has finished his demo, it seemed promising.

Thanks Man Sorry to dissapoint u guys like that...expecially after i urged u guys to enter something so much...almost finished my first week of university and im not quite sure that i might finish the demo(my sister is going 2 kill me).

I wanted some feedback on my source, if you guys have the time. Check out the way i set up the scene system and tell me what u think. I have never read anything on how to setup a demo; just winged it and i wanted to know how my intuition stacked up against the ways u guys do it (lol, it probably sucks ).

Also would like some feedback on the animation system. I want to know what mods you guys want on it before i release the code. So far, im working on speeding up the rendering using display lists (which is turning out well) and next ill add some collision detection (with animation) using coldet. Anything else you guys want?

Don''t mind them. Most people who negatively criticize the entries (and they are all over the place) are too busy smoking something to enter the contest themselves. My name is Philip Leszczynski and I am very proud of my work, just like the other 19 people who entered. Personally, I am extremely surprised that I didn''t get bombed with junk mail once people downloaded my source and found my e-mail address. If you want to send me junk mail, you''re wasting your time because you will have to download my source to get the address, and I will ignore it just like the a$$hole you are.
I was looking at your source earlier Philip. I wanted to
investigate the terrain, to see if I could make it look a little
better. I didn''t count on it being quite so complex

I didn''t realise there was more than the one scene to the demo
either. I have to confess, I quit out early first time, with the
first scene taking a while. My bad.

Nice work.
Sorry about that.
You have an excellent demo - much better than mine.
I was talking about the people who write about my entry while they don''t even know how to draw a rotating triangle. (I HATE THOSE KIND OF PEOPLE!)
My demo IS extremely slow; I''m not trying to get myself out of this one.
Matrix,
I love the start to your demo, the tomb is the most artistic part of the movie IMO. You did very well with it.
