I get the same troubles. I find I can save the project still whilst not being able to quit. If you cant recompile after reloading, just delete the obj files to force it to recompile from scratch. Apparently there are service packs availible from MS to solve this, but I have had trouble getting to them becuase of broken links. Maybe its a way to make you go .NET, but what ever the reason if anyone could give me a working link to the download that would be helpful to both of us.

yeah, i noticed that i can still save the project without being able to quit it, but that''s so bloody to do so much only to recompile a project where the compiler stopped just at a simple syntax-error! are you sure there is a service pack for that problem??? WHERE ???

A Question to ServicePacks:
when i download ServicePack5 for the VisualStudio-Envirement for exapmle are there all the other SP''s likeServicePack4/3/2/1 included???????????????

Please HELP!

SP5 should fix it. I used to use VC++ 6 with Win XP Pro without any problems with SP5 installed.
