I have two computers. One has a ATI Radeon 9000 and the other has an ATI Radeon 9600. I never have any issues running RenderMonkey on the Radeon 9600 system, but on my Radeon 9000 system, any model using any shader profile looks distorted when running on HAL mode. If I switch it to REF everything looks fine, but it''s very slow. This happens even if you are just writing a simple passthrough vertex shader targeting vs_1_1. I would think that id the shader is targeting a basic VS profile, it should run fine in HAL on a DX8.1 card. I have the latest ATI drivers and the newest DX9 runtime and SDK installed. Has anyone experienced this problem. Please help me out. If you''ve never heard of RenderMonkey, then let me be the first to tell you that it''s a great tool for creating shaders in both assembly and HLSL for DX 8.1 & 9, and best of all, it''s free and can be downloaded from ATI''s site. If only I could get it to run HAL I would be set.
Kill ''em all!!! Let Allah sort em out
