Alright, so about a week ago, I boot up my computer to fine that I can''t use my F:\ drive anymore -- my main cd drive is gone. Not only won''t it open, I looked on the system devices, it wasn''t there. I tried to refresh and yet it wasnt there. So I ask some people and they say I may have lost a driver... is this right? And if so, how can I solve my problem?

Well, if you have lost a driver, you should be able to solve that easily enough. If you''re using XP, it should be easy enough to add - just add hardware and it will find the drivers for you. Otherwise, you should have gotten a CD or disk with the drivers on it with the drive; of course, you may not be able to find it. If that is the case, check out the website of the CD manufacturer and hunt down the drivers for your drive model and system.

If you haven''t lost a driver, then who knows. Try the usual reboot. Try shutting down, unhooking the drive, booting up, shutting down, rehooking it (and installing anything necessary) and booting.

Surf the website for help.

Good luck!
