First it was the small windows. Now something''s going on with Media Player. If I close the player (via the "x," a right-click->close, or a file->exit) while a song''s playing, the song KEEPS PLAYING. And when it''s done, it REPEATS. After it''s closed, WMP doesn''t show up in my processes list, either. On top of that, Windows decided that I needed a screensaver all of a sudden, so it turned one on. Finally, when I''m idle for more than a few minutes (I haven''t timed it yet), the computer "locks" and I have to type in my administrative password to unlock it. That never happened before... At least the screensaver problem is easy to fix...

That could be your soundcard drivers, or DirectX... but that''s not very informative, is it?

Furthermore(!), I can''t minimize WMP by clicking on it in the taskbar. That annoys me to no end.

Make a screenshot of all your tasks running.

Maybe there might be something more here than meets the eye.

Here's a screenshot

And believe me, the music is PLAYING!

Is it normal for the sum of the percentages to equal 96?

And anyone else only count 30 processes?

When I''m idle, the sum of my percentages is/are only 5%. But then again, I can''t check that for you.

We''ll as you can see, I''ve got a system idle process that roughly accounts for the rest of the CPU''s usage.
