Hello, I would like to hear oppinions about what to use in order to add new funcionlity to max. Right now I´m using the max sdk but it''s so painfull that I´m thinking of moving to MaxScript. Thanks in advance, HexDump.

Yeah, the Max SDK is painful. It works well once you figure things out, but the documentation and samples are so dodgy that it makes figuring things out much more tricky than it should be.

As for which to use...I''d say both. It really depends on what you''re trying to do. Many things that need good performance or stretch the limits of what you can do with Maxscript are much better done using the SDK. However, simple tools that manipulate objects in trivial ways are much easier to do with Maxscript.

So...it all depends on what you''re doing. What are you doing?

Trying to adapt 3dmax to be my 3d editor. I think I will go for max sdk in order to make my exporter nad maxscript to change max behaviour, like create new objects (based on the ones that already exist), etc... what do you think?
