Problem Installing MSDN

I can''t install MSDN Oct2003 Everytime I try, it dies on "Updating component registration" with the error message: "The wizard was interrupted before MSDN Library -October 2003 DVD could be completely installed." I''ve tried everything from doing a Windows XP reinstall, to updating my Microsoft Installer files, and I''ve cleaned my registry uncountable times, but nothing seems to work. Anybody else ever encounter this? I just wish that there was a more detailed error message :\

By re-install, do you mean format and start-over, or just a refresh over the existing OS?

I've encountered countless such errors. Tracking them down takes hours and hours, often to find there's no solution but to start over anyway. Before you do that, make sure the CD/DVDs you have are good - do they work on other computers?
