HI i know i am late at stateing this but i just upgraded to dx9 from 8.1 and my runing demo which was getting 260 fps with 8.1 at 1024*768 16 bit got 40 fps with 9 all i changed was the add arguments for the functions, and i know its not my code. i checked the DX diagnostics and i have the use retail build set i know some of you had this problem when it came out but i cant search the post because i get an admin error. i would appreciate any help

Is it using direct draw in any way (I doubt it if its converted from 8.1, but anyway), as DX9 drivers tend to emulate rather than accelerate Direct Draw calls

Hello once again i have another speed problem this time regarding
x files optimization in dx8 i used the draw subset method which
i planed to remove later when i moved to 9 for Tri-strips. loading the knot.x mesh in dx8 got 180 fps 1024 32-bit and in 9 got 30 fps same config. both useing the optimizeInplace function
dx9 documention show only an added argument to the function.
i am thinging changes to dx9 goes deeper than i think but the doc
dont say enough to help. funny thing the demo sample gets 80 fps
@1024 useing DrawSubset i did not expect a spead increase in dx9
but give me a break i would be thankful for any feedback.
i know you all
