I just took my computer home over the weekend so I could do work over the break. When I got back to my dorm and set my speakers up, I keep hearing a buzzing sound...and sometimes even the radio. Does anyone know of a discrete/free way to fix this?

Could be 60 cycle hum. Check your speaker shielding. If you have passive speakers, skip this, but if you have non passive speakers (ie, has it''s own amp built in) be careful of any big capcitors...

a good fix is coppor tape on the inside shell

I wouldn''t worry much about electrocuting yourself on most speakers, even if they do have a built in amp it is probably not going to shock you, it just doesn''t carry much power.

The sound could be a lot of things, try moving them, keke.
