I think they are both correct, at least in common usage these days, and if you ask me, that is all that matters.

Language is living and breathing, and if the majority of people decide to change the usage a bit, then for all intents and purposes it''s correct.

No, "have came" sounds strange. It is "have come".

God help us if common usage is the standard for grammatical proficiency. How you speak (or write) is just as important as what you say.

EDIT: And observe the semicolon.

Therefore it must be incorrect.

Uh, when I say "sounds strange", I'm not speaking literally. I thought that was obvious. I meant it sounds strange because it's not the correct way, not the other way around.

fisheye: Actually, I would have said, "Oh my god, the band was awesome! You should have come."

And that''s a great example of why grammar''s important: There are so many different ways to say the same thing. It''s the subtleties that make it all interesting. An exclamation point and a semicolon just read differently. Grammar helps you define your writing voice. Ahhh...I love writing.

If anyone is confused, the comma needed to be changed to a more terminal punctuation mark. "The band was awesome, you should have come" is actually two complete sentences. You can''t combine them into one unless you use "and, but, or, etc."
