Hey all,
I''m pretty much a first-time game developer and already I''m having problems!! I''m hoping one of you smart guys can help me out.
Here''s the situation :
I''ve got an Introductory version of VC++ 6.0 and a whole lot of demo examples (the ones that come with the "Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus")... All was well until the examples started using Direct X.
Here''s the error I get after Rebuilding All:
Linking...
demo6_1.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _IID_IDirectDraw4
Debug/directxTestApp.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals
Error executing link.exe.
directxTestApp.exe - 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)
I got Direct X 7.0 SDK. Here''s what I did :
-- I included the libraries and include files at the top of the list in Tools/Options/Directories and included ddraw.lib (the file that one particular example uses) and ddraw.h directories at the top of the libraries and include sections.
-- In the Project/Settings/Link section, I included ddraw.lib at the front of the list in Object/Library Modules (using settings for All Configurations)
-- As an act of desperation, I added include.h to Project/Settings/C\C++ "Additional Include Directories" in the preprocessor category.
The answer''s probably really obvious to all of you so could somebody please help a newcomer!!
Thanks very much,
STEVE
