Hi all! We are a newly assembled team and are in search for 2 more coders. One GUI/Tools programmer and one GFX programmer. The GUI programmers job will be to code tools to manage the games configuration files easily. As Factor2 aims to be platform independant (at least Linux and Windows) the GUI should be done in wxWindows or JAVA, according experience would be good The GFX programmers job is to add the latest graphic features to the game. This contains Vertex shaders, impostors and so on. As we use NeoEngine, according knowledge would be helpful! We have a Wikki system, CVS, Website and Forum on our own server! If you are intereseted just contact me per mail or icq! See our homepage: Factor2 or here for more information. Cirdan p.s. the jobs are not paid of course, unless the game will be sold some time Here is another Screenshot: [edited by - Cirdan on November 17, 2003 3:41:42 PM]

Yes, Factor5 is a developer, actually. I'd change my name if I were you.

Factor2 is not a company but a workingname for the gametitle.
Even if it was a companyname there is no need for changing it as there are LOT of companies with similar names out there.

We also have (after a swift search on Google):
Factor 1 - Oil
Factor 3 - Nutrients for bodybuilders
Factor 5 - A game and music site
Fetish Factor2 - A porno flick
Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 - a treatment for autism
E2F transcription factor 2 - A biological gene
...
...

And the name itself is just very commonly used in math and physics termology.

Please don't mess up the threads with such nonsense, if you have any questions regarding the topic, please ask, if you're interested in the jobs available, please mail.
Don't make Gamedev's "help wanted" forum any messier than it actually is.

Thank you

Andreas Jirenius

Actually you could be in legal trouble if you called your company Factor2. Note that the companies you mentioned are in different businesses. The legal standard is based on consumer confusion. For example, if I want to buy bodybuilding products, I won''t be confused by two different companies both named "Factor" something. But two game companies called Factor 2/5 would lead to consumer confusion and possibly a lawsuit.

If you''re serious about starting a company, check with a lawyer about the legal requirements of registering your company name.

He said it was the name of his game, though.
