Say you''ve got a texture which will always render in the background of u''r opengl window...Is there a way of telling OpenGL, no matter what you do, always color the pixels to your window according to this texture. Because iv''e tested this with just the usual texture mapping to a polygon, but it really slows down the application..., how can I speed up this process? Thanx alot for the time guys!! Cheers

If you make the texture the same as the resolution of the screen you could use glWritePixels (I think that''s the name) to write directly to the screen, the texture as a first step and then render whatever you need over the top.

99% of the time it will be a window and not the whole screen and the texture shall be resized to fit the size of the whole window, kinda like a wallpaper effect...Janos, the slower the pc the slower the app kinda thing...

thats somehow predictive

basically if you dont post numbers how much this slows your app down everybody can just throw a wild guess at you but no specifics.
