Two VB.Net problems...

Original Post
Working on a semester project for a VB class for my CS major, and have run into two very odd problems. I thought someone on here who knows VB may be able to help me find them, as I cannot find the solutions after many hours of looking.
1: I''ve put text in a label for a title screen. A white font (arial) on a blue form background. However, when the program runs, all the text is changed to a 3d almost indented DARKER version of the font color. I''ve shown this to the teacher and the class and no one had a clue what it was caused by. While VB is not the instructers specialty, he is quite experienced in other language and was at a loss to the cause. I haven''t a clue and everything seems set correctly.
2: How do you set a menubar''s color and font color? I''ve checked all properties, and unable to find anywhere it might be changed. Is this something much more technical then just a property setting? I was hoping to change it to a blue background with white pudgy letters (after I fix the color problem) but NOTHING seems to be connected with the color.
Thanks for any help you guys may provide, it is appreciated.
Hey Emonious.
1: Have you set any properties on the incorrect label color? If not, have you tried running it on an other PC? It could be a setting on your PC, or something which casues diffrent effects on your window but in VB the handling context is diffrent which does not cause the undesired effect.
2: You cannot set the menu-bar''s color or font directly in VB. Although it is possible through API, as I''ve seen a few examples, etc. just look for some VB sites that also provides API code.
Hope this helps.

It shows up as the wrong color on any computer it seems (I''ve tried three). I don''t think I have set anything else to the incorrect color. I can change the color and it seems to take taht color and make it darker for the text anywhere. I have NO idea why!
As for the menu bar... crud! I''ve never worked with API''s yet. Any tips for a first timer? I will eventually have to get into them but I know just about nothing working with them at this point.
Thanks for the info

Maybe you can mail your code to me so that I can check it out. (Just the form that has the problem).
If its VB 6.0 or .NET its OK, I can check them both.
I hope maybe that (or I) can help.
AS for the API, its not a MUST but if you would like some pretty nifty stuff in your VB code, then API can do a lot of that. I used to visit vb-world.net but I guess they don't exist anymore.
Use google and look for VB and API. You'll find a lot of sites that can help you there.

Don't have it on this computer right now, but tomorrow night if there are no posts I'll load it up to the college server so I can email one of the forms to you to look at. Thanks for the help, maybe you'll spot something right away that I missed.
While I only have a few years of minor programming experience I have found so far it is always something simple that is wrong, it just seems to be a matter of finding it, or knowing how to.
At least at my level
I'm sure it gets more complex later.

Ok cool, I just want you to know that I don''t know when I can go online (gotta ask my dad and stuff) so I hope you''re not in a rush to finish it or anything.
And I have to agree that the more you program the more you are prone to making little mistakes which can lead to HUGE consequenses (I hope thats spelled right).
Hope I can help you with your problem.
