Hey, Try as I may, I can NOT get my physics engine working. At all. Something always goes wrong. Could someone PLEASE point me to a good article???? I read "Nonconvex Rigid Bodies with Stacking," and it''s a great article, but I need something that is basically a how-to. I can''t find any how-to''s. I realize it''s a large broad topic. I read Chris Hecker''s articles. But are there any free physics engines or code examples I could learn from that appropriately demonstrate things like stacking and friction?? Complete code examples?????? I learn better through code, and I can''t find what I''m missing from this Rigid Bodies with Stacking paper. Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Walt

I've got a few links for you that may be of some help.

The first one is to the Open Dynamics Engine (ODE), a open-source physics engine.

The second one is a link to a Gamasutra article (free pw required), called contact physics.

And here's one by Thomas Jakobsen, called Advanced Character Physics.

You may also want to have a look into the Math and Physics section of Articles & Resources here on GameDev.net. There's a ton of links in the 'Physics Tutorials' part.

!! One thing to keep in mind about ODE though: Depending on it's open-source license you may be required to make your own project os as well. Unless you ever plan on selling your own engine this shouldn't be too much of a problem though. However, if you release your engine to the public you may be required to make the sourcecode available as well.

I tried ODE and nobody can make a solid game with that. The linked multi-bodies is always wobbleing like jello, and the links stretch when a force is applied to. Its funny to use, or to try with a multi-body editor, but can''t be enought to make a good game with a good game play.

I used dynamech for multi-body in my engine. Links never stretch and stay solid. But there are no collision in his physic engine. Only a grid-Vertex collision. I tryed to implement my own collision. Its possible, but I did not achieve my goal.

I''ts my comment.
